Choosing Gifts for Teachers
December 10, 2009 Posted by The Painted Hen

I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time picking out gifts for my children’s teachers. It’s a rare occurrence for inspiration to strike early and I’m usually left scrambling the night before the class party. What makes it such a struggle for me is that I really want to find a gift they will enjoy using and not think is impersonal. While gift cards are a great option, how can you be sure your kids teacher really does like Starbucks?
The PTSO at my son’s school came up with a great questionnaire that they give to all of the teachers and it really helped me pick gifts that they would like. So check to see if your school has collected similar information. If not, consider putting together a quick list of easy questions for your child’s teacher and I’m sure all of the other parents in your child’s class will thank you.
Here are some examples to get you started:
What is your favorite..
- Color
- Sport
- Sports Team
- Restaurant for Breakfast

- Breakfast Drink
- Restaurant for Lunch

- Dessert
- Author
- Book

What do you like to do for fun?
If you were to treat yourself to something special, what would it be?
