Finances

When times are good or bad, happy or sad (sorry to invoke Tina Turner images there) one thing is a constant for most families…managing finances. We’re no financial wizards, but any way we could find to save money or make money or both, we thought it would be worth sharing with everyone out there. We’d love to hear your ideas on the subject too. We could always use good advice.

Although summer is still months away, my husband and I are planning our vacation. Maybe it’s just because we are cold, but it’s fun thinking about summer adventures. A couple years ago we drove from Colorado to South Carolina, and had a blast. This year, we are planning to go the other way: California. Now that we’ve decided on a destination, we are taking the next logical step and locating a place to stay. How can we save the proper amount for all of these things and pay for groceries, housing, and necessities?

LeapFrog Leapster 2Everyone seems to be on a budget these days. We could all use new ideas on how to save money. Recently I found out, if a product stops working before it should, you might be able to get it replaced (I do not save receipts).

Last week, my son’s LeapFrog Leapster game cartridge stopped working. I called their toll-free number and they agreed to send me a new one, if I mailed them the old one. I just saved $24.00.
