Family Game Night 2

Aaah, the days of sitting around the kitchen table playing family board games. We still try to make time every week to play a non-digital game, but we recently received a copy of Hasbro’s Family Game Night for the Wii from Electronic Arts and we might be playing some classic board games on our TV. That’s right, Hasbro has released some of it’s most beloved family games for the Wii, including Operation, Jenga, Connect 4×4, Bop-It, and Pictureka. And, each game is playable in it’s classic mode or in remix mode, where you can do things not even imaginable in their real-life counterparts. Plus, the whole night is hosted by the loveable Mr. Potato Head, including the fun Family Game Show where you and your family compete with an audience and the “Challenge Wheel”. Here’s a good video walk through of all of the classic and remixed games as well as the Family Game Show:

Stocking Stuffers: The 20 “Coolest” Ice Cubes

December 11, 2009 Posted by Painted Hen's Rooster

Every year I try to find “different” gifts to give as stocking stuffers.  This year, I may have found the coolest stocking stuffers yet…literally!  They’re ice cube trays.  But not just any ordinary ice cube trays.  They are some of the most creative and funky ice cubes I’ve ever seen.  Once I found a few of these online, I couldn’t stop searching for more!  Lots of these come from the ever hip website Fred & Friends. By the time I was done (at 2 a.m.!) I found twenty of what I think are the coolest ice cubes around.  Check them out…

If you have kids in the 10 and under crowd, chances are pretty good that you’ve heard about Bakugan by now. The Bakugan craze has hit a frenzied pace this holiday season with a Bakugan ball being sold every 4 seconds! Plus, there’s the top rated animated series on TV, and McDonald’s fueling the fire with Bakugan Happy Meals. And now, Nelvana and Activision have released what is sure to be a top seller this season, Bakugan Battle Brawlers for the Wii. If your kids play Bakugan now, they will love this game as it combines all of the strategy and action of the Bakugan balls/card game with the graphics and story of the animated series all in one video game. The game revolves around Bakugan battles in which you throw your Bakugan cards onto a battlefield and then try to roll your Bakugan balls onto the cards. If two Bakugan land on the same card, they “come to life” and battle it out. Here’s a video of the official launch trailer from Activision:
